British Airways Flight Attendant Reportedly Found Naked and Dancing in Plane Bathroom After Going Missing: ‘One-Man Disco’

A man was arrested after exhibiting concerning behavior on a transatlantic flight from San Francisco to London.

Police based out of London’s Heathrow Airport were called by a cabin crew of an inbound flight at 9:32 a.m. local time on Sunday, May 25, regarding the welfare of a man board, per a statement to PEOPLE from London’s Metropolitan Police. 

The man, 41, was taken to the hospital once the flight landed, and he was later arrested on suspicion of being unfit for duty, per the statement. The individual, who The Sun reported is a British Airways flight attendant, has since been released from police custody and is under investigation. 

PEOPLE reached out to British Airways for comment on Sunday, June 1, and a representative said, “This is a matter for the police.”

According to The Sun, crew members noticed something was amiss when the employee was not present for his in-flight meal service duties.

Upon searching the double-decker Airbus A380 — which seats over 450 passengers — they reportedly found him in the business class restroom, naked and dancing. 

The outlet reported that his colleagues dressed him in first-class pajamas and buckled him into a first-class seat for the remainder of the flight.

“We think the guy popped pills when he was meant to be working. It is an extraordinary thing to do,” one crew member who witnessed the incident told The Sun.

"The plane was cruising at 37,000 feet over the Atlantic, but this bloke seemed to be higher than anyone else,” they continued. “Not only is it really dangerous, it is a crazy way to end your [British Airways] career. This job can do ridiculous things to people, but staging a one-man disco in a Club World toilet is a new one on me.”

British Airways reportedly told The Sun that the employee has since been suspended while the investigation is ongoing.
