Around 1 pm on Friday (August 2), many users reported that they are facing problems accessing Facebook using mobile internet.
 
According to mobile operator sources, there is an order to stop Facebook and Telegram on the mobile network. So the mobile operators have kept Facebook's cash servers down since 12 noon. Russian-based messaging app Telegram has also been blocked on mobile networks.


When the violence broke out over the quota reform movement, mobile internet and broadband internet were shut down from July 17 night and July 18 night. Five days later on July 23, broadband internet connectivity returned to a limited extent. After 10 days on July 28, mobile internet was launched, but the platforms Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram were closed. 
 
Apart from this, Tiktok is also closed. On the other hand, while YouTube was running on broadband connection, it was off on mobile data. Social media was launched after noon on July 31.
 
State Minister for Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Junaid Ahmed spoke about Facebook's role in the outbreak of violence surrounding the quota reform movement. He wrote to these platforms asking for an explanation of the incident. He held an online meeting with Facebook on July 31. YouTube explained in an email and a representative from TikTok appeared that day to explain.
